Indeed... though we are far from hitting bottom on that, unfortunately.

Not even close. 🤬

As do I! I also note that he seems a bit of the same attitude toward his fellow Sentinels? Sure, he is their leader, but even then, Yr does what he wants without question. Then again, that might just be misogyny seeping in.

Why do they even need a leader anyway? And you're probably right on the sexism.

Even for a quest as foolhardy as this, they could have done much better, but I guess that would not be enough suffering for Douglass, no matter that Faraday and Timozel might well have died.

Plus if they were wearing proper snow gear with face covering hoods and furs and such there's no way people would even know Faraday was a girl unless they got right up close, let alone that she's Borneheld's fiancée. How do regular people know what she looks like in the first place anyway? This is worse than Paolini's ridiculous "everyone knows what Eragon/Roran look like and law enforcement always shows up in ten seconds flat" bullshit.

Ah, but how would we know it is "mature" otherwise?

Because it's not. The characters are acting like a bunch of children.

Plot convenience, I suppose. And I think all of them ought to have ended up with frostbite, unless Jack and Yr magically healed it.

Not that we even know what their supposed powers actually do.

SCSF: Why, thank you for still bothering to come by, even when it has been so long and this is so boring!

Wow, nobody else commented. Has the book's sheer inanity and offensiveness finally driven the others away?
