In conclusion.
Tuesday, 13 January 2026 11:14 (UTC)Now that the poll is closed, I took one last look through the reblogs. I found the following, quite good reblog, and this one isn't bad, either. For the rest, it's partly people apologising for not knowing, and mostly people complaining about how anyone dares to use the new meaning... which I'd say accounts for about 70% of the comments I see, and they can get pretty vehement, too!
Let me quote the tags of one last reblog with a single modification, then:
"people have got to stop deciding they know better. like... you being confidently wrong about something doesnt make it now correct. youre still wrong. “i dont know. let me learn something” is a valid position to take and does not make you lesser than. but planting your feet and saying well [it's wrong] with your full chest is clossed minded and ignorant behaviour. be teachable."
That's just what I'd love to say to many of the people replying to this! (The original said it about saying "its open to interpretation", which I do refuse to be taught about, because then I'd have to unlearn facts!)
Let me close with a link to this fresh new reblog, which also puts it very well!
