SCSF: It might be that there are no safer options, but I get the distinct feeling that Jack did not even consider that.

That said, I'm going to note that Timozel is doing a number on his axe, considering we have no reason to believe it's a type meant to be used as a digging tool. (I'm also impressed with how quickly he's getting through the earthen wall considering he clearly isn't trained to do this.)

Something to keep in mind, then, for when he uses it again...

Is it just me, or does Timozel sound like he resents having to go through that tunnel? I don't blame him mind you, getting dragged through the equivalent of a Satanic temple, made to go through a profoundly unsafe tunnel and nearly getting buried alive would certainly make me a very grumpy person.

Oh, I certainly got that impression too.
