Nor did we need not one but two random moments of "ACTUALLY [sentinel] is my DAUGHTER!" like it's some big shocking revelation, even though it has nothing to do with anything. It's just thrown in and never mentioned again and you never see either Sentinel interact with the parent. Just let their origins go unexplained or only lightly touched upon. We don't need to get involved in their random family dramas like it's a damn soap opera. Though unfortunately as it happens much of the subsequent trilogy basically IS just a soap opera. A really really bad one.
